Abstract:
To create a sustainable world, starts with the buildings we live and work in. Today's children are not exposed to enough nature with the technology that is around. By creating a sustainable and nature inspired space, children can spend their formative years in an indoor environment with clean air, and an outdoor environment that allows them to explore the space around them. Having a rough terrain to explore, allows their imagination to run wild, giving them the interest to explore and learn. Although technology has a huge positive impact on our lives, it has also caused children to have short attention spans and the need to stay glued to their tablets. Additionally, many materials used in the indoor environment are actually very harmful for our health. They have short life cycles, and with every renovation comes a new pile of wasted materials in a landfill. By using sustainably sourced materials, and products that can be recycled into new ones, we can create a space that leaves a positive impact on the end-users, while also leaving a positive impact on the environment.
